Clayton High School

Just moved across the continent, to Ontario Canada. I'm living in a Century farmhouse on three acres. Getting used to rural life and being an ex-pat north of the border. New Home care nursing job starts early May. I'll leave what I wrote last time to bring anyone else up to speed.
Life
I've been working as an RN for almost 20 years now. Can that be possible? I started off working Intensive care and now the last ten have been as a Hospice nurse.
I live on the beautiful Central California coast near Monterey, about 2.5 hours south of San Francisco.
I have a Bull Terrier dog, and one cat, who thinks he is a dog, and an african Senegal Parrot.
I spend my time off work hiking in the area or getting a good amount of dirt under my nails gardening. I also enjoy kayaking. I am an avid Contra dancer with our local dance community. One of my best vacations was a week horseback riding through Vermont in the Autumn abut 20 miles a day through woods from one country inn to another. I also love the big Island of Hawaii, and the privilege of having an encounter with wild Spinner dolphins. In 2005 I spent a month in Peru with some of the "wisdom keepers" Quechua of the high Andes. Being aclimated to sea level, and then hiking at high elevation is something my body won't forget. Visiting the jungle of the Amazon basin will convince you the planet is really a living entity.
I'd love to travel more, but like books, so much to see, so little time.
After high school I did a trip to Europe. In Scotland I met Jim Aikins, and we traveled together for about three months becoming fast friends. Jim is from Ontario, Canada. We visited each other and wrote like crazy, but I was bound and determined to move to California. We lost track of each other in 1982, each of us married and divorced. But, last year, with diligent searching on Jim's part, we reconnected. He got a tracking clue from Classmates.com Nearly 30 years later magic is still there. I am now waiting for permanent resident status to work in Canada. We have a century farmhouse on three acres to restore, and I'm hoping to move to the great North before too long.
I used to have a Honda 350 motorcycle and gave Jim his first ride on a bike. He is now an editor with a Canadian motorcycle magazine. So, it looks like a bike is in my future again.
